Reflection on Thursdays lesson!

Reflection on Thursdays lesson!

The past few weeks, I have been studying dance at The Brit School. I can already see a massive improvement in my physical skills and my interpretive skills. I think that on the Thursday lesson I need to improve on a number of exercises such as:
       1.     Tendus- I can improve this exercise using the pressure against the floor to help the articulation of the foot which will strengthen the muscles and improve the extension.
     2.     Leaps across the room- Continuous split exercises will increase the flexibility in the legs which will help the action of the split in the air.
    3.     Jazz exercise from the corner- I can take time by going through each step slowly and analysing the different techniques that are within the combination       for e.g the pirouettes to make sure you a spotting correctly, to make sure you are pulled up out of the hips especially since the pirouettes are on a fondu and not on a demi point where it is easier to pull up out of the body.

I feel I have been putting effort into my three main targets which were:
Strength
I feel my strength has improved so much. On Thursday we do an intense warm up which consists of a lot of abdominal exercises, each week I’ll try and make it a tiny bit harder for myself so my strength will improve a lot more quicker.
Flexibility
I know for sure that I have improved my flexibility, not just in my legs, but in my back as well. On Thursday at the end of each class we do a stretch, during this stretch I can feel my hamstrings loosen and more freedom in the hips.
Extension
In class I think about this in every exercise which focuses on extension for example:

Tendus- when you tendus you have to think of extending the leg even further then you normally would. This will help the muscles lengthen in the leg which will eventually give you a better line.
